Since 2001 I've been teaching at Delft, University of Technology, in different courses. The first years I've been involved in the design course to develop a consumer handheld product, starting with goal formulation, defining the target user group and strategic direction, up to concept design and detailing for mass production (injection moulding). More recently I'm teaching Fuzzy Front End: company analysis, internal and external, trends and developments, forecasting developments relevant to the company and market and translating these into a new interaction for the future context (reframing). Embodiment Design: taking a patent as a starting point for designing and detailing, searching for meaningful new use for existing patents. And the course Design for Social Impact, that teaches students to start from observing -through essays- and context mapping to combine user insights and personal opinion into (product) innovation.
